Work on the new Midway has begun.
The vision

A familiar shoreline, boldly renewed.

The goal is not simply to replace docks. It is to create a more useful, welcoming, and enduring place for the Lake Norman community.

Why now

Honor the history. Build what comes next.

Midway Marina has served Lake Norman since its original authorization in 1984. With permits now approved, the redevelopment answers decades of use with updated waterfront infrastructure, improved public access, and new spaces to gather.

The approved plan combines marina essentials with hospitality: docking, personal watercraft access, fueling, sanitation pump-out, restrooms, a ship store, and waterfront dining.

Guiding principles

A marina made for the next generation.

01

Lake access

Keep the waterfront useful and welcoming for boaters and visitors.

02

Responsible renewal

Pair modern infrastructure with shoreline stabilization and careful engineering.

03

Community energy

Create a place that brings activity, connection, and pride back to Midway.
